"Boys Against Girls" 7" (Get Go)
The title song makes some damn good points (especially considering the ways the indie/punk community discriminates against women), but while the sentiments are appreciated and understood, the medium (which is, as McLuhan noted, the message) is vaguely poppy rock which doesn't quite fit the ideas contained in the song. Maybe that whole thing about spoonfuls of sugar helping medicine go down is true, but in this case, it's simply too saccharine. However, "Port" is simply a great fucking pop-punk song - wonderful hooks, melodic riffs and an optimistic, emotional chorus which makes it a damn cool p-rock love song.
