Dodgeball
"Hooray For Everything" CD (Goldenrod)
Just when I think punk rock is a wash and I'm better off just drinking myself into a stupor so I'll be too blind to see all th' fuckin' baggy pants and chain wallets and wife beaters, an album like this comes out of nowhere and blows me away. Granted, this was not unexpected. Since the first time I saw them, I've had nothing but the greatest respect for Dodgeball's pop sensibilities and gleefully youthful exuberance. They actually LIKE what they're doing and it's pretty damn obvious on this album. Better sound than the 7" singles and new songs to boot. What more can you ask for?
