"A Pretty Mess By This One Band" CD (Will)

Sounds like Pavement playing Delta Blues while staring at their muddy shoes which kicked the stones from their passway after another love in vain. It's noisy and grinding, yet can also be surprisingly tender and melodic. It isn't especially noteworthy on first listen, but after sitting through it a few times, it's evident something is going on here. As the fuzz and static and noise blur together with melodies and gentle piano notes and strings, this sounds more like some ethereal songsmithing from an undiscovered star, beamed down to a cryptic cabal in the Middle East for purposes of aiding them in their alchemical studies.
