I'm not sure I've heard music which is more eerie or unsettling in a good while now. Noisy, seemingly downbeat songs. There's a sense of danger emanating from these tunes like the smell of fear coming from a solitary pedestrian walking through a foggy London night. Maybe it's just the legends, maybe it's just the history, but maybe lonesome Jack is just around the corner, waiting ... then the morning sun sneaks in through the eastern window, breaking the spell. Obviously not entirely - there's still the matter of remembering what happened last night and how romantic and frightening it was to walk the streets alone, watching the mist coil and curl underneath the pale streetlamps as the clocks marked the hours with funereal bells ...
