Back with their sophomore follow-up, U.L. are tearing it up. Still, why they redid "Suzanne" and "Shallow" for the new album is a mystery to me. The first "Suzanne" was clearly better, and the two "Shallow(s)" are nearly indistinguishable. Methinks producer Greg Graffin saw single material and wanted to doctor them up accordingly. U.L. are still leading the pack of new-school Taylor Steele So. Cal. punk bands. As Puckett would say, "This shit's the bomb." Get it. (TOM)
