Waterdog

"Self-titled" CD (Atlantic)

I suppose this is somewhat punk, but it only sounds like the sum of their influences - Down By Law, Dag Nasty, the Jam, Bay Area pop-punk, maybe a bit of '77 British gob in yer eye ... oh, and about three servings of Green Day. Simply put, this album is punk by numbers - Waterdog transforms punk into algebra and works through the equations to craft an album which carries elements of great punk bands, but is, ultimately, nothing more than ripped-off bits from people who do it better.
